Jeanice Kerr Swift is Executive Director, K-12 Schools in Colorado Springs School District #11, Colorado. An experienced educator and presenter at both the state and national levels, Jeanice Swift's experience with Response to Intervention implementation encompasses dual roles as both practitioner and researcher. In her research at the University of Denver and, more importantly, in her daily work as a principal of Charles M. Russell Middle School in Colorado Springs over many years, she has "lived" the implementation of the three-tiered instructional design to produce dramatic improvement in student achievement at the middle-level. She knows from personal experience the power of the Response to Intervention instructional design to realize the ideal that "ALL kids can learn."
